A Carapichaima labourer has been charged with both murder and attempted murder.

37-year-old Anil Roopnarine appeared in the Couva Magistrates’ Court on Monday, with the matter adjourned to November 20th 2023.

20-year-old Joshua Mooniram was at a friend’s home in Freeport on October 13th, when they were accosted by five masked men.

One of the assailants shot Mooniram, who later died at hospital.

The suspect was arrested on October 19th.
