The Mt. Hope Women’s Hospital has been awarded Baby Friendly Accreditation.

The Baby-Friendly Health Initiative is a World Health Organization project promoting practices that facilitate positive outcomes for mothers and babies worldwide.

In June 2023, the Mount Hope Women’s Hospital successfully completed evaluation by a WHO appointed panel to determine whether it met the global criteria against which international facilities are assessed.

The facility received accreditation status with flying colours, having excelled in all examination categories.

The NWRHA says an official Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Accreditation ceremony was held on August 5th, with representatives from the Health Ministry, PAHO/WHO, Executive Management and staff in attendance.
