Following recent developments in Syria, an MP is calling for urgent action to repatriate T&T children detained in Syrian camps.

On Sunday, Syrian rebels seized the capital Damascus with President Bashar al-Assad reportedly fleeing to Russia.

Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambally says this situation further complicates the matter of repatriation of T&T children in Syrian camps.

He believes, despite the establishment of a repatriation committee, there has been little or no tangible progress.

MP Rambally warns that the situation now demands urgency and is calling on government to engage international organizations like UNICEF and the Red Cross to help T&T’s children.
