MP wants Minister to state Govt’s intention regarding WASA workers

The Public Utilities Minister is being called on to comment on alleged plans to dismiss thousands of WASA workers in December.

The claim came in a statement issued today by Princes Town MP, Barry Padarath, who said he was aware of moves inside of WASA to quickly reduce the staff complement.

He alleged that the 2024 allocations could not meet the current demands for Salaries, COLA and NIS payments.

The Princes Town MP called on the Minister to publicly state the Government’s policy on cutting the staff at WASA.

He also accused the government of playing with the lives of citizens since they are yet to comprehensively state publicly where WASA is heading.
