A call is being made for a full safety audit of all Caribbean Airlines ATR aircraft and their fuelling procedures.
It comes from Mayaro MP Rushton Paray following the revelation by Finance Minister Colm Imbert that a recent emergency landing of a Tobago to Trinidad flight was caused by a fuel issue.
Mr Imbert added that it was not a fault with the aircraft itself but that the problem arose from inaccurate fuel measurements.
MP Paray believes the incident is a serious wake-up call for the airline and raises a number of questions.
MP Paray believes maintenance and verification protocols must be tightened across the fleet with strict cross-checking for pilots and fuelling teams.
