The Tabaquite MP is reiterating a call for targeted interventions at curriculum level to address school violence, by teaching students to de-escalate issues.
Mrs Anita Haynes-Alleyne’s call follows a stabbing incident at the Palo Seco Secondary School yesterday, which left five pupils receiving medical attention.
She believes schools must introduce emotional regulation and conflict resolution skills.
MP Haynes-Alleyne adds that there must also be safe spaces in each school for students to seek refuge in the event of bullying, threats or fear for their safety.
