Government is being urged to monitor a mystery flu-like disease which has killed dozens of people in south-western Congo.

Cumuto/Manzanilla MP Dr Rai Ragbir, making reference to the COVID-19 pandemic, warns that the possibility of the disease spreading across borders cannot be ruled out.

He believes T&T’s government still has not established a comprehensive pandemic response framework.

Dr Ragbir insists the Health Ministry must closely monitor the unfolding situation in Congo and be ready to act swiftly should any threats emerge.
