Government has come in for condemnation by an MP following reports that US$160.38 million was withdrawn from the Heritage and Stabilization Fund.

According to a Guardian article, the withdrawal was mentioned in the HSF quarterly report for the period ended December 31st, 2023.

In response, Mayaro MP Rushton Paray describes the withdrawal as “reckless” and says it raises concerns about the PNM’s fiscal management.

The article says the quarterly report did not state what the money was used for and Mr Paray believes there needs to be transparency about the use of the funds.
