The Mayaro MP wants government to address what he calls “delays” regarding a DNA sample from the body of Rishi Khemchand.

In a statement, Mr Rushton Paray says it has been over six months since the fisherman’s body was brought back to T&T after his remains were discovered in Venezuelan waters.

Mr Khemchand was among four fishermen who went missing after leaving for an expedition on January 31st, 2023.

The MP claims his body is still inaccessible to his family due to delays in the forensic analysis of his DNA sample.

He is calling on the National Security Minister to take immediate action to prioritize the resolution of the analysis.
