An MP wants to know how much taxpayers’ money is being spent to clean up the Tobago oil spill.
Rudranath Indarsingh says he noted recent reports that oil from last month’s spill has made it hundreds of miles away to the island of Bonaire.
The Couva South MP is asking government to state how much money is being spent on treating with the spill.
He is also calling on government to reveal what contingencies will be put in place to mitigate damage in Bonaire and neighbouring territories.
News of the oil reaching Bonaire was reported by BBC and AP News, among other international news agencies.
