MP enquires about traffic alleviation plans for Chase Village & environs

Couva North MP Ravi Ratiram wants to know why plans for the alleviation of traffic in Chase Village and surrounding areas have not been executed.

Mr Ratiram says in 2019, the Works Ministry announced that an overpass and roundabout would be built in the vicinity of Brentwood and Edinburgh to reduce congestion around the Chase Village triangle.

The MP wants Minister Rohan Sinanan to reveal why the projects were not completed and the status of the money allocated to them.

The issue of traffic in the Chase Village area was also raised by Mr Ratiram during yesterday’s session of the Standing Finance Committee.

During that time, Minister Sinanan says the Traffic Management Branch has been tasked with finding solutions to the problem.
