MP condemns attack and robbery against Sangre Grande priest

The assault and carjacking of a Sangre Grande priest is another marker of the descent of society into violence and rage.

This is according to Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambally following the incident in which three men stole a Toyota Aqua from Father Maurice White on Saturday morning.

Father White, the resident priest at the St Francis RC Church, was hospitalized following the incident, while police recovered the car and arrested three men in Freeport.

MP Rambally says all social actors must recommit to stemming the tide of violence, adding that it is not only the priest, pundit and imam who are required to do the work.

He insists that homes, parents and schools must also look for ways to temper violence and encourage a culture of peace and sobriety.
