Naparima MP Rodney Charles is calling on the TTPS to solve the murder of his cousin, RideShare driver Shakeem Charles.

Charles’ body was found over the weekend, several days after he was reported missing.

In a statement, the MP says crime is “indiscriminately hitting closer to home and very soon every family in TT will be affected.”

He also believes that unless “decisive, serious, intelligent and visionary action” is taken, 2024 will become the new deadliest year.

MP Charles believes the case has a “plethora of evidential facts” as he questioned if efforts have been made to track the movement of his cousin’s vehicle, take fingerprints, investigate the last passenger, and access CCTV footage from the ATM which was used to withdraw money from the victim’s accounts.
