Another call is being made for a Coast Guard base in Central Trinidad, after the robbery of a security guard at the Orange Valley fish market.

According to Couva North MP Ravi Ratiram, the guard was also assaulted by masked intruders during an incident on September 21st.

The MP says there have been calls for more than two years for the Coast Guard base with the presence of the TTPS Coastal and Riverine Unit.

MP Ratiram says his calls for enhanced security infrastructure have been met with silence from government, who he ultimately accused of dragging its feet.
