Armed criminals operate without fear in T&T, according to Caroni East MP Dr Rishad Seecheran.

His comment follows the killing of three men in the parking lot of Pizza Boys in Cunupia over the weekend.

In a media release, he noted that the Cunupia Police Station is less than a kilometer from the location but has consistently been hit by complaints of a lack of vehicles and manpower.

He added that the crime surge is having a devastating impact on businesses, families, commuters and the mental health of society as a whole.

The past weekend saw reports of up to 15 people being killed.

A Sangre Grande man who was reported missing since Friday was also found dead on Sunday afternoon.

Densley Eudovic had last been seen plying his vehicle for hire in Sangre Grande and his vehicle was found abandoned in Arima.

On Sunday around 2pm, the Hunters Search and Rescue Team confirmed that the man’s body was found in the Biche district.
