Moruga/Tableland MP Michelle Benjamin believes water is being politicized.
In a statement today, she alleged that the PNM candidate for the contested Lengua Indian Walk district was recently invited to WASA
site visits to the Samuel Cooper area to replace pipelines.
She also claims that her office was not provided with any details of the visits.
Ms Benjamin says she is “distressed” that water was being used as an inducement for votes.
She adds that water is a precious commodity and that access to safe drinking water is a human right that everyone, regardless of political affiliation, is entitled to.
103.1FM News has reached out to WASA for a comment on the allegations.
