Machel Montano was dethroned in the National Calypso competition, as Helon Francis was last night crowned the Calypso Monarch for 2025.

He performed in position #9 with his song ‘To Whom It May Be’.

Montano placed fifth, with Kurt Allen, Yung Bredda and Karen Asche placing 2nd 3rd and fourth respectively.

Rikki Jai placed 9th.

Francis, meanwhile, received a prize of 700 thousand dollars and a brand new motor vehicle.

Also at Dimanche Gras last night, Roxanne Omalo was crowned the Queen of Carnival and veteran Curtis Eustace won the King of Carnival 2025.
