Finance Minister Colm Imbert insists that he never said or even implied that he was contemplating a cut in the allocation for the Chronic Disease Assistance Programme (CDAP).

Mr Imbert issued a statement today dismissing a newspaper report regarding comments made to the Standing Committee Meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday.

He admits to raising concerns about the increase in the allocation for public health care, noting that it is nearly at $8 billion for fiscal 2024.

However, the Minister insists he was “very careful to say” that the expenditure on free medication was important and that the increased allocation must be spent on free medication.
