Ministry offers help after toddlers found alone

The Social Development Ministry says steps are being taken to help the parents of two toddlers who were recently found alone.

In a statement, it says this follows allegations that the children’s father and his wife both have intellectual disabilities.

The toddlers were picked up by police officers last week after being found alone and in squalid conditions at Red Hill, D’Abadie.

Following this, a team from the National Family Services Division visited, conducted an assessment and advised the family of the grant offerings available to them.

The Ministry says psychosocial support and counselling were also offered.
