The Attorney General, along with the ministers of Homeland Security and Justice, have been asked to look into the possibility of resuming hangings in T&T.

This was revealed during today’s post-cabinet news conference by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

During this time, she also unveiled some statistics as it relates to  death row inmates in T&T.

Though the death penalty remains on the local lawbooks, it has not been exercised since 1999.

Mrs Persad-Bissessar also addressed what she said were reports regarding Gazetted schedules for the various Ministries.
