A warning is being sent after officials seized 43 animals which were being smuggled into the country illegally via Icacos.

Around 9:30am yesterday, officers on a routine patrol saw a vessel with a cart entering via an illegal entry point – those involved reportedly fled when they saw the officers.

Agriculture Minister Kazim Hosein notes that illegal animal importation is punishable by law, and the Ministry is conducting an investigation into the incident.
