Tourism Minister Randall Mitchell says the country has lost an important cultural giant in the form of Denyse Plummer.
The veteran singer and former Calypso Monarch died on Sunday at age 69.
The Ministry has expressed sympathy to her relatives, friends and also to T&T’s musical and cultural fraternities following her passing.
Mr Mitchell expressed hope that her work would continue to inspire national pride and unity for future generations.
He also said Ms Plummer demonstrated how the power of music could effect positive change.
