Minister Eli Zakour holds talks with Airports Authority

Seamless passenger processing, cargo traffic, and modernized parking solutions were all discussed as Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Eli Zakour met with officials at the Airports Authority today.

The Ministry says despite the local aviation sector’s notable achievements, Mr Zakour believes there are critical areas in need of immediate enhancement.

He specifically stressed the need for improved coordination with the Immigration and the Customs and Excise Divisions, the integration of modern technology and improved parking logistics.

He believes this would significantly increase operational efficiency, enhance the overall customer experience, and position T&T as a viable destination for air carriers.

The Top Strategic Priorities Emerging from the Meeting included:

  • Seamless Passenger Processing: Convening an inter-ministerial meeting to improve coordination with Immigration and Customs and Excise to streamline airport operations.
  • Boosting Cargo Traffic: Attracting international cargo carriers to diversify revenue and establish Trinidad and Tobago as a regional logistics hub.
  • Modernized Parking Solutions: Upgrading parking infrastructure to enhance convenience for travellers and improve the overall airport experience.
  • Integration of modern technology to improve faster processing of passengers.
