The issue of crime was discussed when National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds met yesterday when the new United Nations Development Programme Resident Representative, Ugo Blanco.

At the Ministry’s Port of Spain head office, Mr Hinds welcomed Mr Blanco to his new posting and extended appreciation to the UNDP for supporting national efforts to address crime and violence.

Discussions also centered on areas of collaboration between both organizations, and a regional initiative called CARISECURE 2.0.

Minister Hinds then spoke about measures to reduce the inflow of illegal weapons, and both parties agreed to explore new avenues for cooperation.
