Following the temporary closure of the San Juan Fire Station yesterday due to ceiling damage, the Homeland Security Ministry will conduct an audit of fire stations and emergency facilities.
Intended to take place across the country, it will focus on structural integrity, safety and serviceability.
Minister Roger Alexander said upgrades will include modern facilities and advanced resources.
Meanwhile, a site at Torrib Trace has been proposed for the new Princes Town Fire Station.
In the interim, the Ministry is evaluating an existing building to serve as a temporary fire station and training facility for southern division officers.
During a site visit today, Minister Alexander said it was about “rapidly restoring critical fire and emergency services to the Princes Town area.”
