Meta is launching its new app to rival Twitter and says it will go live on Thursday.
The app is called Threads and Meta describes it as a “text based conversation app”.
It will reportedly be available for pre-order on the Apple App Store and will be linked to Instagram.
It also appears that Threads will be a free service and there will be no restrictions on how many posts a user can see, something Twitter has come under fire for recently.
The move is the latest in a rivalry between Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter owner Elon Musk.
Last month, the two squared off on social media and agreed to a physical fight, although it is unclear how serious they are about actually following through.
