The Met Service is monitoring an approaching tropical wave that is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds across T&T and other Caribbean islands during the next day or two.

It says the system has not become any better organized since yesterday, and some slow development remains possible during the next couple of days while it moves westward.

Regardless of development, the Met Service says the initial outlook for T&T is for cloudy periods with showers and the medium chance for thunderstorms over some areas, between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Meanwhile, parts of the country experienced flooding today following heavy rainfall.

Floods were reported in areas including Caparo, Maraval, Santa Cruz, Flanagin Town and Maracas St Joseph.
