Measures have been put in place to heighten security at the Piarco International Airport.

This follows a shooting this morning that left one man dead and another injured.

In a statement, the Airports Authority says a meeting with held with the TTPS immediately after the incident, to work out measures for strengthening and enhancing the Airport’s security.

It says some of these will go into effect immediately, while others will be implemented in the coming days.

The Authority says other agencies within the National Security framework will also commit resources to deter similar events in the future.
