A number of measures are being put in place to address traffic in Chaguanas, especially for the duration of the Divali Nagar and the Suarez Circus.

According to Mayor Faaiq Mohammed, one such measure is the conversion of Rodney Road Extension into a one-way (south to north) from 7AM to 9AM and 2PM to 6PM.

This is to alleviate congestion at the roundabout by reducing the number of vehicles entering Rodney Road from the extension.

Additionally, more traffic wardens have been deployed to the Endeavour area and there will be no highway works conducted at night during the Divali Nagar period.

These decisions follow a meeting with stakeholders during which it was assured that the circus is working closely with the TTPS and will be hiring officers for security, crowd control, and traffic management on the days they have scheduled shows.

The NCIC also said it will have police for security, traffic management, and crowd control.
