A Mayaro man accused of arson is now dead.

61-year-old Ramsaran Kowlessar was charged with eight counts of attempted murder and one count of arson after allegedly setting fire to a house in Mafeking on November 13th.

He was being held at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Center following his initial court appearance last week.

His lifeless body was reportedly found around 1:30pm yesterday.

Investigations into his death are continuing.
