Marlon Samuels found guilty of anti-corruption breaches

Former West Indies cricketer Marlon Samuels has been four guilty of found offences under the Emirates Cricket Board’s Anti-Corruption Code.

A media release from the ICC today notes that a hearing was conducted by an independent tribunal on the charges laid in September 2021.

Samuels has been found guilty of:

• Failing to disclose the receipt of any gift, payment, hospitality or other benefit that was made or given in circumstances that could bring the Participant or the sport of cricket into disrepute
• Failing to disclose the receipt of hospitality with a value of US $750 or more
• Failing to cooperate with the anti-corruption investigation
• Obstructing or delaying the investigation by concealing information that may have been relevant

The tribunal will now consider the submissions of each party before deciding on the appropriate sanction to be imposed.
