In Dominica, a manicou was responsible a complete power outage on the Northern part of the island yesterday.

According to an announcement from the Dominica Electricity Servicesb (DOMLEC) Facebook page, the interruption was triggered by the wildlife animal, resulting in a fault at the company’s hydro plant.

This led to generation shortfall and system instability at the plant.

DOMLEC, the only electricity utility in Dominica assured that works were in progress to restore power to all affected citizens.
