A 44-year-old man is now in critical condition after being shot in Belmont.

Around 9:30pm yesterday, the victim was driving in the vicinity of the Belmont RC School when several men reportedly opened fire on his vehicle.

He felt burning sensations about his body and subsequently crashed into a wall.
