A 37-year-old Malabar man was shot dead at East Gates Mall last night.

Junior Derrick Patrick was in the basement carpark at the Trincity location around 10:57pm, when a lone gunman exited a black Hyundai Elantra.

The suspect shot Patrick several times before escaping in the waiting the vehicle.

The victim died at the scene.
