A 35-year-old man was killed in a police-involved shooting in St. Joseph yesterday.
The TTPS says around 5:25pm, officers were proceeding along a bushy track at Valsayn Trace, when they observed a man walking toward them.
The man allegedly ran to an unfinished building and pointed an object resembling a gun at the officers who fired in his direction.
The wounded man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short while later.
He was later identified as Irfaan Abdul Haqq also known as “Jimpy” of Third Avenue, Barataria, and Farm Road, St. Joseph.
A Glock 19 pistol fitted with an extended magazine containing five rounds of ammunition was allegedly found at the scene.
