A 54-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court in Rio Claro charged with the attempted murder of his brother.

Rampersad Rajballysingh was not called upon to plead and remanded into custody for tracing until his next court hearing on March 12th 2024.

The accused was arrested and charged following an incident on the afternoon of March 4th 2024.

According to police reports, a man was in the bedroom of his Rio Claro home when his brother, who also lives at the same house, allegedly kicked down the door and entered.

The man’s brother was said to have been armed with a cutlass and allegedly made certain threats towards him.

The 54-year-old suspect is then reported to have pushed and chopped his brother on his right hand.

The suspect fled from the house and was held a few days later.
