A man has been gunned down in Port of Spain.

The incident occurred shortly after noon today.

According to reports, the victim was near the corner of Queen Janelle Commissiong Street (Queen Street) and Charlotte Street when he was shot in the head.

He died on the pavement next to the Belmont taxi stand.
