Calypso legend David Rudder as the Elite Calypso Music Honoree, which was presented to him by Kes Diffentaller.
Kes himself was the receipent of the Peoples Choice Award, besting other nominees such as Dexter Daps, Skeng, Patrice Roberts and Shenseea, to name a few.

However, Chutney or Chutney Soca were not among the categories at the awards ceremony.
This was acknowledged by artiste Ravi B on his Facebook page this morning, as he posted “Dear Carib Music Awards Chutney Soca Music is also a part of the Caribbean”.
