The Land Settlement Agency has acknowledged delays in providing deeds for land to former Petrotrin workers.

The LSA issued a media release today in response to calls by ex-refinery workers earlier this week, for updates on land promised to them when the refinery was shut down in 2018.

It notes that persons from the first batch of successful applicants in 2021 have been issued letters confirming their selection, have viewed their assigned lots and are awaiting the processing of their deeds by the Office of the Commissioner of State Lands.

Regarding successful applicants drawn in 2023, the LSA says it is in the process of preparing their confirmation letters.

It assures that the agencies involved in the Petrotrin Lands Programme are working diligently to expedite the process.
