The House of Representatives has supported the appointment of Allister Guevarro as the new Police Commissioner.
Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander moved the motion during today’s sitting.
He recounted Mr Guevarro’s experience in the Police Service, which spans 27 years and included time in the Special Branch.
Also speaking was former Minister Marvin Gonzales, who stated there was no objection to the appointment from the Opposition.
Mr Guevarro was nominated for the role by President Christine Kangaloo on the advice of the Police Service Commission.
