The Local Government Ministry has won an award for its LOCAL TT app.
The app was launched in June 2024 and allows citizens to directly report on issues, thereby enhancing issue identification, promoting transparency in citizen engagement, and optimising the efficiency of service delivery.
Yesterday, it was given the President’s Award for Innovation and Service Excellence in the Public Sector.
The Ministry has since hailed the app itself as a “testament to inter-agency collaboration for public benefit”, since it was developed entirely in-house with the collaboration of 14 Municipal Corporations and key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ministry of Works and Transport, Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, WASA, and T&TEC.
The President’s Awards were hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank under the patronage of President Christine Kangaloo.
