The Local Government Ministry has applauded its agencies on a successful Carnival 2024.

In a statement, the Ministry says its involvement included the coordination of approvals, licenses and permits in food and hospitality, event venues and structures, parking areas and management, sanitation, preparation of main areas and policing.

It says public health officers, engineers, disaster management units, daily paid workers, contractors and municipal police went beyond the call of duty.

This included over 1,000 municipal police officers for traffic management and crowd control, as well as 6,000 Municipal Corporation workers and CEPEP personnel for post-Carnival cleanup activities.
