Labour Ministry reminds of fines for minimum wage non-compliance

The Labour Ministry is reminding employers that there are penalties for non-compliance with the increase in minimum wage.

The wage increased to $20.50 was implemented from January 1st this year after being announced in the 2023/24 National Budget.

This morning, Labour Minister Stephen McClashie shared a video to his Facebook page which highlights the fines attached to non-compliance.

It notes that there is a $15,000 fine for underpayment of the minimum wage, failure to keep and maintain records regarding minimum wage workers, outstanding wages.
