Defending Caribbean Premier League champions Jamaica Tallawahs have started their 2023 campaign with a win against St Lucia Kings.
Brandon King hit 81 from 53 balls as Jamaica put on 187 all out from their 20 overs despite Roston Chase’s 3 wickets and an economical 2/21 in four overs from Alzarri Joseph.
Spinners Imad Wasim and Chris Green then teamed up for five wickets, along with a couple for pacer Salman Irshad, as St Lucia were restricted to 176/8 in 20 overs – short by 11 runs.
CPL action continues from 7pm today with last year’s runners-up Barbados Royals taking on the St Lucia Kings.
This first leg of the tournament is being held in St Lucia.
