Police have arrested a 19-year-old man who is a person of interest in a kidnapping.

The incident in question took place in September 2023 in Maraval.

The suspect was held by officers who were on foot and mobile patrol yesterday in the vicinity of the Trou Macaque Plannings in Laventille.

Meanwhile a high powered firearm was seized during an exercise in Carenage yesterday.

Officers went to Sea View Hill, where they searched a bushy area and found an AK-47 assault rifle, a magazine and 30 rounds of ammunition.
