A Yellow-Level Adverse Weather Alert will be in place for north-eastern Tobago and northern Trinidad from 10am to 4pm today.
According to the T&T Met Service, a band of convergence east of Tobago is expected to generate broad areas of moderate to heavy showers and occasional thunderstorms.
It adds that rainfall over the past few days has resulted in saturated soils in parts of north-eastern Tobago and northern Trinidad.
The additional rainfall forecast brings with it the likelihood of landslides and toppling trees in vulnerable areas.
