The adverse weather alert for T&T has been discontinued.

The discontinuation was announced by the Met Service at 6:17am today as it notes that the potential for impactful weather has decreased considerably.

There is still a medium chance for isolated heavy showers or thunderstorm activity during the day, but gradual improvement is forecast towards the evening and the overnight.

Last night, heavy rains, thunder and lightning were reported as T&T was under a yellow-level adverse weather alert.

Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Centre says weather system AL96 continues to approach the region with the possibility of heavy rainfall across the Lesser Antilles during midweek.
