The Judiciary is warning against a phishing attempt using a fake court link.
It says some persons have received messages advising of unpaid traffic tickets.
These messages also include a fake URL link and CourtPay page.
The Judiciary says it is not associated with this page, with investigations now underway to find the origins of this scam.
It adds that payments for fixed penalty notices, unless contested at the District Courts and subject to a court ordered payment, can only be made through the Works and Transport Ministry and not the Judiciary’s CourtPay portal.
As for actual CourtPay transactions, it says legitimate business can only be conducted through the portal: courtpay.ttlawcourts.org
Phishing is a scam where attackers send emails or other messages purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
