Jereem ‘The Dream’ Richards has been awarded $187,500 under the Elite Athlete Assistance Programme.

This funding is designed to help athletes cover the cost of training, international competition fees, travel and other essential expenses.

Richards has received funding under the programme for the past few years: he was awarded $187,500 in 2020/2021; $250,000 in 2021/2022; and $250,000 in 2022/2023.

The Sport Ministry says between 2021 and 2024, Richards also received a total of $819,000 under the National Rewards and Incentives Framework for his performance at various international events.

These included gold medal performances at the World Indoor Championships, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2023 Central America and Caribbean Games.
