James Earl Jones dies aged 93

Actor James Earl Jones has died at the age of 93.

According to his agent, he died early on Monday morning surrounded by his family.

In a career spanning nearly 60 years, Jones has been renowned for his work on stage and on-screens, both big and small.

He was perhaps most famous for his deep voice which was on display for roles like Darth Vader in “Star Wars” and Mufasa in both the animated and photorealistic versions of “The Lion King”.

Another iconic voice credit is CNN’s tagline, in which Jones simply says “This is CNN”.

Over the course of his career he earned two Tony Awards, two Emmy Awards, an honorary Academy Award and a Grammy.
